Start freshening your home for the new year — it’s easy! Make your home feel new with just a little effort every day. All it takes is a ten minutes a day to give your home a fresh outlook, and give you more to look forward to every day you’re there.
Spruce up in 10 minutes or less every day using these five tips:
1. Do a 10-minute clean-up: Just clean one area or item. Each week, choose a small task that you can handle in 10 minutes or less like vacuuming a rug or cleaning one window.
2. Try the 10-minute declutter: Reorganize your sock drawer, your kid’s dresser, a messy bookshelf, or that kitchen junk drawer. One place per week. Only keep what you absolutely need.
3. Prune a plant in 10 minutes or less: Choose just one plant in your home every week. Trim the dead leaves and fertilize, dust off the pot and leaves, and replenish dirt if needed.
4. The 10-minute refrigerator re-org: Tackle one shelf at a time. Take everything out of the shelf, clean it, and put everything back in a more organized fashion.
5. Take a 10-minute assessment: Move your artwork, framed photos, vases, throw pillows and other knickknacks around in your home to find the best next place for them to live this year. Sometimes freshening a room just means creating a new arrangement.
