Celebrating the Last Day of School
Celebrating the last day of school can be a memorable event at your house this year! The end of the school year can be hectic with lots of planned activities, but don’t forget to celebrate that your child has successfully accomplished another year of learning. Try some of these special ways to celebrate this momentous occasion at home.
School Year Review
Gather special art projects, pictures, trophies, certificates, outfits and other memories and put together a show-and-tell for your child, recounting all of their milestones from the year.
Congratulations Sidewalk
After school ends the last day, spend the afternoon decorating your front sidewalk with colorful notes and images celebrating the end of school and the start of summer.
Sundae Bar
As a special after-school last day treat, create a sundae bar with multiple flavors of ice cream, and tons of toppings where everyone gets to make their favorite ice cream treat.
Summer Starter Kit
Surprise your child on the last day with a summer starter kit box full of summer-themed objects like a new pool float, sunglasses, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, a new water bottle, and more.
Popsicle Party
Invite all the neighborhood kids over on the last day for popsicles in the front yard. Add sprinklers or water balloons and it’ll be a big, colorful celebration they won’t forget.
Treat Decorating
Simply provide plain cookies, plain cupcakes or plain donuts with oodles of frosting colors and sprinkles and the kids have at it.
